Its been a year since the Pandemic stopped the beauty industry in its track. Ill never forget where I was when i got the email that i was laid off indefinitely from my management job as a spa manager at a 5 star hotel in Atlantic City. If that wasn’t devastating enough, the very next day we were instructed to close our salon/studio until further notice. Can you imagine the thoughts flying around in my head. How am I suppose to make a living if my job requires that I be in close proximity to my clients face. Especially with regards to makeup. I’m practically inside their nostrils.

Just like every other wrench thrown into my life’s plans, i managed to regroup and redirect my energies to consulting with my current clients online. I figured, like the rest of the world, they would turn to the internet for products, advise, and information on solving their beauty concerns. My goal now was to position myself to be their solution.

My first thought was to upgrade my website and create an entire new look that was super user friendly for my clients. Like a click bank, my new site allows the visitor to get instant answers to their cosmetic and skincare needs. By guiding them to my site and encouraging them to complete the skincare and custom cosmetic surveys, I can zero in on their concerns. My niche is to offer customized beauty products formulated specifically for the client, and allowing them to be a part of the formulating process via zoom.
Since this pandemic, the internet has proven to be the key component to our communication needs. I learned the importance of being mindful to the mental health of others and I also learned to be resilient when redirecting my business to a virtual setting.
After a year of making do with the resources we were given, its refreshing to know the vaccines are working and we can soon resume life, not as we use to but free from fear of hugging, gathering and traveling. I continue to pray for those we lose due to covid and for no future outbreaks moving forward.
